I’m sure you have heard people and businesses are leaving California like never before; with more than 6 million residents leaving the golden state for greener pastures from just 2010 to 2020. Of course California has always experienced significant outward migration though; it’s just that there were always more people moving in then out, so net population changes remained positive. That trend officially flipped back in 2020, and California has been posting net-population losses ever since. Now i’m not saying everyone is leaving California; no frankly, it’s still the nations most populated state with 39.5 million residents and real overcrowding issues. However I am saying that California is changing, with a declining population and economy, which is concerning for the state with America’s biggest economy and largest population.
